As one of the few countries to have successfully emerged out of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bangladesh’s GDP is set to increase by 3.8% according to projections from the International Monetary Fund.
Information Technology is playing a vital role in the country’s aspired vision to be recognized as a leading developed country. The ‘Digital Bangladesh’ vision had envisaged Bangladesh to be a developed country with the ultimate goal to improve the lives of the people.
The four pillars of Digital Bangladesh are Digital Government, Human Resource Development, IT Industry Promotion and Connecting Citizens. The government wants Bangladesh to be a gateway for the digital world and has started multiple initiatives to develop a skilled, equipped and digital-ready pool of talent.
The Bangladesh Government has been proactively involved in increasing digital penetration in the country. Over 5,000 Digital Centres have been set up across the country to cover the “last mile” and ensure the various digital services reach all citizens.
